This Norwegian course is for you if you want to strengthen and develop the basic knowledge you already have in Norwegian, equivalent to Norwegian A1. You will get more oral training, as well as an increased vocabulary and understanding of Norwegian grammar. The teaching is communicative, and you are encouraged to use the language actively in practical situations from everyday life. There will be many opportunities to practice and rehearse the language.
In this course, you will build on the knowledge you acquired in the A1 Norwegian course. You will practice pronunciation, numbers and prices, quantity and time expressions. You will develop questioning techniques, ask for and give information, explanations, and express your opinion in a more nuanced way. You will learn to participate in simple, familiar oral interaction in everyday life situations when the conversation partner speaks slowly and clearly. After the course, you will be able to:
- speak and write simply about personal relationships and general topics
- tell about events in the past and the future
- describe yourself and your surroundings, your education and your work
- express wishes, feelings and commitment
- conduct a simple conversation about family, housing and personal finances
- tell briefly about health and illness, make an appointment with the doctor
- read simple texts and personal letters
- write simply about personal experiences and everyday events
- use basic grammatical structures in the situations listed above
This is part 1 of 2 at level A2. We recommend that you have Norwegian skills at A1 level before starting A2 part 1.
